Toshihiro, a photography school dropout, is obsessed with secretly photographing the lovely Seiko. He is in love with her and hopes to lose his virginity to her someday but is unaware that Seiko may attracted to him as well. After spying on her with one of her professors, Toshihiro becomes jealous and swears to forget about Seiko. As they both struggle with their sexual urges, a series of misadventures brings them closer together.

Koyo Ohara, one of Nikkatsu Films’ greatest auteurs, directs this crazy, sex-filled, upskirt photography love story!

Coming off the vicious Woman in a Box I find it possibly reassuring from the copy that this entry in Impulse Pictures’ Nikkatsu collection is a “love story”. How nice. Also, it is “sex filled” and has “upskirt photography”, so don’t put your lube away just yet. I’m certainly curious to find out what passes as a romance, so lets dive in.

This starts off with a disco beat theme song as a photographer does his best pervy Rear Window by spying on his neighbor Seiko as she gets dressed. As Seiko walks to play tennis with her slutty friend we quickly find out she’s allegedly a virgin goody-two-shoes. Our also virgin hero photographer is following her, taking pictures along the way. This is what we would today call felony stalking. He is an inventive sicko though, since he has the best use of a remote control car since The Dead Pool by strapping a camera to it to allow for risk free shots at Seiko’s panties. Instead of blowing up a car this causes an explosion in his pants.

Our hero makes money on the side by cleaning up a woman’s bath area, which allows him to engage in another of his hobbies of collecting stray pubic hairs. He also peeps on the women through a hole in the hole like a horny 80s teenager. Through his peeping though he finds out Seiko might be getting bushwhacked by her professor, which of course makes him mad and swear off Seiko. His buddy tries to help him by getting a whore to take his virginity but instead he just takes Polaroids of her pussyhole. This pisses her off, which somehow pisses HIM off, so he borderline rapes her. Of course this guy is packing a huge zoom lens and can go multiple times in a row so she looks past the forced entry. The joke’s on the new fuck machine though, because Seiko actually has a crush on him and might be willing to let him crack her clamshell open.

So boy loses girl, right? You’re never going to guess how he eventually wins her back. Apparently there is a park where you can pay to be a Peeping Tom as well as join in a group grope if people are slamming stinkers. Seiko almost gets raped by her date who just happen to be close by, but our protagonist saves her by taking pictures of the assault. This results in him getting a beating by the park pervs. Seiko for some reason find this endearing and allows him to take lots of smutty pictures of her. Canon I’m sure has never been more proud of this product placement. The movie ends with him deflowering her with his giant point and shoot, and she showers off her leaking hymen blood. Ah, young love.

So this is kind of a weird mix of an O. Henry story, an entry of Red Shoe Diaries, pixilated pubic areas, and lots of hilarious creative ideas on how to get photographs of panties in the wild. If you’re a fan of cotton cameltoe, you are definitely going to want to check this movie out. While still trashy and sleazy, it might be a bit easier to stomach than the previous chapter in this series. There actually is some decent camerawork during a weird dream sequence where a giant wall vagina has a camera shoved through it. Otherwise it is your standard Roman Porno with what I would say is an average transfer, which speaks more to the quality of the picture of some other entries. No bonus features at all, which is the usual.
